Interior Designer’s Home – A Herringbone Thread Throughout

The apartment renovation by interior stylist Irena Dvoržak and her husband, an architect, focused on creating an open, flowing space centered around herringbone parquet flooring. By removing interior walls, they combined the kitchen, living room, and dining area, choosing oak parquet with larger planks, which gives the space a sense of cohesion and openness. The herringbone pattern naturally leads the eye toward the terrace with a view over Ljubljana. In furnishing the space, they focused on timeless pieces and contemporary materials.

This choice of parquet highlights both prestige and historical depth, while maintaining a fresh and modern appearance in the living space.
